FORMER Rangers skipper Davie Weir is prepared to make his playing comeback – aged 42! Weir, who quit Ibrox last season to coach at ex-club Everton, admits he is keeping himself fit in case he is called upon to play.

The former Scotland defender is still eligible to play for the Goodison side’s reserves. He said: “I’m still training and doing a bit of coaching, so I’ve got my foot in both camps. At the moment I’m just enjoying watching, learning and getting involved. I’m getting a taste of what a pre-season is like at Everton after being away.”
