The 30-year-old is out of contract at the end of next season and has reportedly attracted the interest of a number of European clubs including Hamburg and Bayern Munich.
Boruc has seen an upsurge in form of late having put in a series of solid performances.
Mowbray said he was reluctant to reveal the content of the negotiations.
"What I will say is that conversations have been had with Artur and his advisors, but whatever we discuss stays in-house," he told the Evening Times.
Boruc was signed from Legia Warsaw by previous manager Gordon Strachan in 2005.
