Celtic linked to former Gretna defender Aurelien Collin

THE club of former Gretna defender Aurelien Collin say they have been approached by an agent acting for Celtic.

President of Portuguese side Vitoria de Setubal is reported today as claiming that an English agent, acting on behalf of the Parkhead club, approached him about the availability of the 24-year-old.

Vitoria president Fernando Oliveira said: "We already knew that there was interest in Collin, but now we have received a firmer approach for him.

"An English agent came to enquire about Collin's situation with us and there is a strong possibility that he will leave to join Celtic.

"There has also been an approach for him from a Portuguese club. But if Collin is to leave, his likeliest destination is Scotland.

"It depends on various circumstances what price we will be likely to sell him for."

Collin began his career in France with Sedan and played for Real Mallorca before joining Gretna for one season.

He also turned out for Greek outfit Panserraikos and Wrexham before moving to Portugal.
