November 24, 1979: "George Best made a scoring debut for Hibs but there was no story-book finish for soccer's superstar. More than two dozen photographers stood at the tunnel waiting the appearance of Best such was the star's drawing power."
December 1: "George Best brought out the fans in their thousands for his first home appearance and there was an air of expectancy about the place. Bottom of the table or not, Hibs had pulled out a genius with crowd appeal and the public responded."
