Alex Jack Cup semi-final
Lothian Thistle 1 Leith Athletic 3
BOTH teams started at a frantic pace, but Leith took the lead with a well worked goal, Greg Irvine's looping a header over Swain from Mark Duthie's cross. Lothian responded with Wayne McIntosh taking advantage of a defensive error. Lothian were outdone again shortly after the break. A Neil Ewart free-kick was spilled by Swain and Darren Lockhart was there to smash it home. Another Duthie cross was met by Rory Stewart, who made no mistake from close range. Lothian woes where compounded when Wayne McIntosh was sent off for a second booking.

CENTRAL TAXIS PREMIER DIVISION
Edinburgh University 2 Preston Athletic 0
THE home side took the lead in the 22nd minute. Jack Beacher picked up a through-ball from the midfield, shrugged off his marker, and rounded the oncoming goalkeeper at the edge of the box before applying the finish. James Craigen took advantage of a gap in the Preston defence to double the lead five minutes later. The game was halted on the half-hour mark after Jack Beacher and Prestons Matt Costello collided when going for a 50-50 ball. An ambulance was called and Beacher was stretchered off with a broken leg. Preston looked an improved side in the second half, but only had a couple of shots from Martin Laidlaw and Gary Docherty to show for their efforts by the final whistle.

Heriot-Watt University 2 Coldstream 1
FOLLOWING a first half of few chances, the visitors went ahead with 20 minutes left to play. Craig Tyson sent in a firm shot which Falconer saved at full stretch, but John Crawford was on hand to fire in the rebound. The Watt equalised shortly afterwards. James curled the ball in from the left and Erik Thomson ran in to send a low volley into the corner. There was a penalty for the home side when Ewan Watson was brought down by Renton, who was harshly sent off. Mark Walters dived to his right to make a great save from Thomson's spot kick. Five minutes from time, Watt substitute Ross Leask threaded through an inch-perfect pass for Simon Ferrie to slot the ball past Walters for the winner.

FIRST DIVISION
Craigroyston 6 Hawick Royal Albert 0
AFTER a goalless first half which saw both sides hit the woodwork, Craigroyston took the lead early in the second half when Sean Martin headed home a James Binnie corner, and they added a second when Andy Dewar headed home a Martin cross. They added a third when Binnie's pass was cleared back to him, and he sent a 25-yard shot past Steven Walker before Jamie Nisbet was sent off and and Craigroyston took advantage when Stevie Sproule set up sub Kris O'Neil to score. O'Neil then set up fellow sub David Anderson who finished the scoring.
Craigroyston: Weir, Sproule, Stuart Martin, Lawson, Dewar, Binnie, Hassan (Anderson), Georgeson, Sean Martin, Dignan (O'Neil), Manson (Hay). Subs: Turner, McKenzie.
Hawick: Walker, Parker, Sheil (Simpson), Campbell, Nisbet, L Wallace, Easdon, R Wallace, Watson (Hope), Robertson, Cooper (Caldwell).
Gala Fairydean 3 Kelso United 1
KELSO took the lead from a long free kick to the back post that eluded the home defence but Burnett rose to head home. It took almost until half-time for Holness to chip Dowie for the equaliser after Kelso had failed to clear their lines. It was mostly Gala early in the second half and following prolonged probing of the Kelso defence, Young's 25-yard shot curled into the top right corner of the Kelso goal. Kelso threw players forward in search of an equaliser but this left them open at the back and Dumma was sent off for a two-footed lunge at Holness. Approaching full-time, Anderson laid the ball into Collins' path and he skipped past two defenders before sliding home Gala's third goal.
Gala Fairydean: Turnbull, Hay, Wood (L Hardie 75), Hossack, Waldie, Young, Holness, Gibson, Anderson, A. Hardie, Glass (Collins 57). Subs: McKenzie, Greene, Triallist

Gretna 2008 10 Peebles 1
DAN CARMICHAEL'S early strike set the tone of the game. Carmichael scored four in all, his third and best coming just before half-time after Gary Knox had pulled one back for Peebles via the post in the 42nd minute. His other goals came in the fifth and 48th minutes. Nicholson scored a hat-trick, on 16, 18 and 80 minutes, his second goal set up after excellent play from Ian Cummersky, his third after a moment of brilliance from Chris Ferrie. The other Gretna scorers were Ferrie who pounced in the 78th minute and Steven Rudd in the 53rd minute after Carmichael was brought down for a clear penalty, but the referee allowed advantage to be played. The eighth Gretna goal came from a corner, taken by Curtis Wood. The ball looped into the goalmouth and appeared to be headed into the net, although the supporters were disputing whether Ross Johnston got his head to it, whether a Peebles defender did, or whether Wood's shot went in.
Stirling University 2 Ormiston 0
THE students of Stirling University moved into third place with a comfortable win over Ormiston. Stirling took the lead in the 20th minute when a Lee Nichol corner was headed powerfully into the net at the front post by Jason Atkins. With five minutes of the first half left, Jacob Arnold-Smith was brought down in the penalty box and Paul Cadger in the Ormiston goal saved Abraham Keller's resultant spot kick. However, the striker made up for his miss only five minutes later when he rounded Cadger after a solo run and slipped the ball into the unguarded net. Stirling missed two good chances in an otherwise even second half.
Stirling University: Filler, McCullagh, McLeish, Atkins, Milne, Keller, Nichol, Anderson, Bolam, Arnold-Smith, Topp. Subs: Dewar, Pentland, Byrne, Dingwall, McCulloch.
