AEK Athens appoint Lienen as manager

GREEK Super League strugglers AEK Athens have appointed German Ewald Lienen as their new manager.

The 58-year-old former Panionios and Olympiakos Piraeus coach has signed a one-year deal with AEK for a reported e100,000 per season, replacing Vangelis Vlachos who was sacked last month.

AEK have struggled with debts and most of the first-team squad were sold or released during the transfer window.
