Aberdeen set to sign ex-Rangers defender Maurice Ross
ABERDEEN have agreed a deal to sign former Scotland and Rangers defender Maurice Ross until January.
The 28-year-old right-back, who has been training with the club for more than a week at his own request, was released by Turkish side Kocaelispor at the end of last season.
Ross will complete his move to the Dons once they receive international clearance, which is expected to be before Saturday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League match with Dundee United.
Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee was sufficiently impressed by the former Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves, Millwall and Viking Stavanger player, who completed 90 minutes in a 1-0 friendly win over Dundee on Tuesday.
Speaking last week, McGhee said: "At this stage of the season, there's not many good players out of contract, who are in a position to be able to sign for clubs.
"Someone as good as Maurice, when he comes along, first of all you look at him to see if he's fit.
"He has really looked terrific."
