A long road to Hampden

SOUTH of Scotland League outfit St Cuthberts Wanderers face a mammoth 560-mile round trip after being drawn in the preliminary round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

The Kirkcudbright side have been drawn away to Highland League team Keith for the tie which will be played on Saturday, 4 August. The other preliminary tie is Fort William v Preston Athletic

Five Borders clubs have received a major boost by avoiding the preliminary round. Coldstream, Gala Fairydean, Hawick Royal Albert, Selkirk and Vale of Leithen will go straight into the hat for round one, along with a host of fellow East of Scotland League sides, including newly-crowned champions Stirling University.
