UEFA have confirmed the eligibility of Progrès Niederkorn player Emmanuel Francoise, who opened the scoring for the Luxemburgan side in last night’s Europa League qualification match, after questions were raised over a failed drugs test.

The attacking midfielder was reportedly sanctioned for taking a banned asthma treatment in May this year.

Uefa have since confirmed Francoise was elligbile under their rules, but the player could still be sanctioned under Luxemburg doping rules.

The Glasgow club were humiliated by losing 2-0 on Tuesday night to the part-time team from the south-west of Luxembourg.
