Rangers transfer blow as top target Toumani Diagouraga joins Leeds

Rangers have missed out on top transfer target Toumani Diagouraga as the player has decided to join Leeds United.

Warburton had said that he was ‘very hopeful’ the holding midfielder would be with the team in time for Monday’s league game against Morton at Cappielow.

His hopes were dashed after Leeds moved in to secure a £600,000 deal for the player. (Daily Mail)

Ronny Deila: ‘Rangers have no excuse’ if they fail to win Championship

Deila has warned Rangers that they have no excuse if they fail to win this seasons Championship.

The Celtic manager has sanctioned Anthony Stokes joining Hibs on loan for the remainder of the campaign - a move which is likely to boost one of Rangers main title rivals.

Deila has also said that he doesn’t care who wins the Championship battle between Rangers and Hibs and that the Stokes’ deal will prove to be a challenge Rangers must overcome to prove themselves worthy of a return to the top flight. (Daily Mail)

Alan Stubbs says Hibs can win the treble

Alan Stubbs has told his team that they can win the treble.

The Hibs boss has said that only the Hibees and Celtic have a realistic chance of securing a win in their leagues and taking home both cups this season.

Hibs are currently five points behind Rangers in the Championship race and are set to face St Johnstone in the League Cup semi-final before playing Hearts in the Scottish Cup. (Scottish Sun)

Ronny Deila: We will consider signing a striker

Celtic boss Ronny Deila has told The Scottish Herald that he would consider signing a striker this month if he can find one to improve his squad.

“It’s about getting the right ones,” said Deila. “If they are not then we won’t bring in anyone else. We have three strikers at the club, but if we find someone who we think will make us better and there’s a possibility to do it then we will look at doing it.” (Herald)
