RANGERS have taken Vladislavs Gutkovskis on trial from Latvian side Skonto Riga as they look to bolster their squad in the January transfer window.
Mark Warburton will assess the 20-year-old striker who netted an impressive 28 goals in 34 appearances last season.
The Rangers boss has identified the forward position as one area of the team he would wish to improve in January, along with defensive midfield and defence.
Martyn Waghorn has been in terrific form this season with 19 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.
However, there is little depth behind the Englishman, particularly with veteran attacker Kenny Miller often utilised on the right wing.
Rangers will travel to Raith Rovers this Saturday as they look to keep their lead on top of the Ladbrokes Championship.
Warburton’s side currently have a three point advantage of Hibernian, who travel to Morton.
