Rangers are considering a January move for the Dundee striker Greg Stewart.

The Championship leaders have been monitoring the 25-year-old as they seek a return to the top flight.

Stewart, who was short-listed for the PFA Scotland player of the year award last season, has 18 months remaining on his contract.

He joined Dundee from Cowdenbeath in the summer of 2014 and excelled in his first season in the Premiership, scoring 15 times.

He has been less prolific of late. After scoring four goals in the first ten games of this season he has failed to find the net since September.
