Rangers have extended the loan of Arsenal midfielder Gedion Zelalem until the summer.

The 18-year-old initially joined on a six month loan and has impressed in his time at Ibrox so far.

He has made 15 appearances to this point, generally partnering Jason Holt in the centre of the Rangers midfield.

“We always talk with Arsenal and we talk about how he is progressing,” manager Wark Warburton told the Evening Times in October. “They watch him every game. They look at every touch the player makes, they look at data, runs made, jumps made.

“They look at whether their assets are improving and it’s up to us to make sure they get the information they need.”
