The Portuguese coach was confirmed as the successor to Mark Warburton on Saturday afternoon. He was unveiled to the media on Monday and met with the players for the first time two days later.

He’s now taken control of his first training session as he aims to get his Ibrox career off to a winning start with a victory over Hamilton this Saturday.

The two sides played recently in the Scottish Cup, with Rangers thumping their visitors by a 6-0 scoreline. The 46-year-old studied the match as part of his video analysis before arriving at the club. He then attended Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Celtic in order to further familiarise himself with the strengths and weaknesses of his new squad.
