Rangers manager Mark Warburton is set to sign a new contract with the Ibrox club, according to the Daily Record.

It is understood the Englishman, who guided Rangers to the Ladbrokes Championship title and a Scottish Cup appearance this past term, will be rewarded with a deal worth £600,000-a-year.

That would double his current salary, a figure of around £6,000-a-week, which he agreed to last summer when penning a three-year deal to make the move to Ibrox.

The signing of a new contract would certainly ease any fears Rangers fans may have regarding interest from clubs south of the border in their highly thought of manager.

Warburton, while linked with other clubs, has always insisted he’s focused on Rangers and has already started rebuilding his squad for next season with Joey Barton penning a two-year deal earlier this week.
