Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has announced that captain Lee Wallace will be out of action for the next three to four weeks after requiring stomach surgery.

If the estimated length of recovery is correct, it means he’ll likely miss both games against Celtic at the end of April.

The defender was forced from the action at half-time during Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Motherwell and it later transpired he required surgery to resolve the issue.

Rangers will face their rivals in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup on Sunday, 23 April, before meeting them at Ibrox on league duty the following Saturday.
