INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle midfielder Greg Tansey has signed a contract extension that will see him remain with the club until May 2017.
Tansey is a year into his second spell with the Highland side having made 39 appearances and scored 5 goals for the club in the 2011/12 season. He returned to the Highlands 12 months ago, making a further 43 appearances and adding 7 goals to his tally in that time.
Tansey said: “I’ve really enjoyed my football since returning last January. John likes us to play a passing game which suits me down to the ground and I can really engage with the way he has us train
“We’ve got a great bunch of lads here who have all got each other’s back both on and off the park, that’s something you don’t always get elsewhere. I also like living in Inverness and certainly don’t miss the long commutes to training that I had in London.

“It’s important to be happy and playing football at the right club for the right reasons. I was delighted to return to the club last year and it was an easy decision to commit to extending my stay.”
Manager Hughes said: “We faced tough competition in bringing Greg back to the club last year, but I’m glad we persevered as he’s making an important contribution to what we’re achieving in Inverness. He’s a committed and hardworking player, so it’s pleasing to get him signed up for another couple of years.
Kenny Cameron said: “As a club we’ve benefited greatly from the continuity in the squad over the last few seasons and it’s great that players like Greg want to stay here and be a part of that. It’s humbling to hear players talk about how settled they are at the club, not just in regards to their football, but also with living in the area and how welcome they’re made to feel in the community.
“Last summer was quiet for us with transfer activity as players had committed to contract extensions earlier in the year. It’s something that both the club and players benefit from as it allows everyone to concentrate fully on the football. My hope is to be in the same position this summer and we’ll continue to work with the manager and players to achieve that.”
