Hearts: Set to welcome sell-out crowd

Have your say

Hearts look set to record their biggest home crowd in
18 months on Saturday, with Jambos responding to the club’s plea for a sell-out against St Mirren in their thousands.

The encounter against the Paisley side looks set to smash the 16,500 barrier, with fewer than 500 tickets left as of last night. You need to go back to May 2011 to better that figure at Tynecastle, when 16,681 watched Celtic run out 3-0 winners in Gorgie, thanks to a Gary Hooper double and a Kris Commons strike.

The expected crowd will dwarf every SPL match in the capital this season and will even beat the attendance of the recent Europa League match against English giants Liverpool, which came in at 15,965. Hearts remain hopeful of a complete sell-out ahead of the game against Saints which, until this week, had been billed as potentially the club’s final match.
