Swedish goalkeeper Viktor Noring has joined Hearts on a two-year contract following a successful trial.
The 25-year-old made several pre-season appearances for the Ladbrokes Premiership club and will compete with Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper Jack Hamilton for the starting jersey.
Noring was a free agent after leaving Danish club Lyngby and his move marks a return to Scottish football following a non-playing loan spell with Celtic in 2013.
The former Malmo and Heerenveen player has signed in time to be included in Hearts’ squad for their second Europa League qualifier against Maltese side Birkirkara.
Noring told the Hearts website: “It feels amazing to have signed here. It’s a good opportunity for me to come here and try to get the number one spot, so I’m very happy.
“I’ve been on trial here for a bit and I like the style of football the team is trying to play, it’s similar to what I’m used to.
“I was at Tynecastle for the game against Infonet and the atmosphere was great. I can’t wait to experience it as a player.”
