DUNDEE have arranged a pre-season friendly against Hearts, the team they will replace in the Premiership next season.
The Dark Blues will take on the Jambos at Dens Park on 22 July, at 7.45pm.
The two clubs last met during Dundee’s brief return to the then-SPL as ‘Club 12’, during the 2012/13 season, with the Taysiders enjoying three wins out of four meetings.
Ryan Conroy’s goal gave Dundee all three points at Tynecastle in the September, with Matt Lockwood repeating the feat during a 1-0 win at Dens .
John Sutton’s late goal gave Hearts the win during a midweek fixture with Ryan Conroy netting the winner in the final meeting as Dundee tried to haul themselves out of the relegation spot.
The match against Hearts comes just over a week after Paul Hartley’s men take on English Premier League behemoths Manchester City in the City of Discovery.
Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson said that he was hopeful of announcing further pre-season friendlies for the club, adding: “[Playing Dundee] will be a good game for us at that stage of our preparations and will be a good test for the team.”
Ticket information is due to be released shortly.
