SEVILLA have joined the chase for Celtic’s Dutch stopper Virgil Van Dijk signature and are said to be considering a £6million bid.
The Spanish club are said to be keen on the centre half after his impressive performances both domestically and in the Champion’s League and now the Express have reported that they are ready to make a £6million bid for the player, who signed from FC Groningen for just £2.2million last summer. New Celtic manager Ronny Deila has already stated that he wants to keep all of his top players and was hoping to keep Van Dijk for at least another season.
However the club may find it an offer of £6million hard to turn down.
Van Dijk is already a target for several English Premiership teams with Southampton’s new manager Ronald Koeman being a long term admirer and Newcastle and Arsenal also being linked.
Southampton and Koeman were looking most likely to make a bid for the 22-year-old first, but with Sevilla manager Unai Emery expressing interest in the player, the Europa League holders may beat them to it.
