CHARLIE Mulgrew is a major doubt for Scotland’s Euro 2016 qualifiers against Poland and Gibraltar next month, according to Celtic manager Ronny Deila.

The Parkhead utility player has missed the last three games with a thigh injury and Deila is not expecting him to be available until after Gordon Strachan’s side play their final Group A game against Gibraltar in Faro on 11 October, three days after Poland’s visit to Hampden Park.

Deila said: “Charlie, I think, will be ready to play after the national team [games]. I think that is going to be tough [to make it]. I am not 100 per cent in that, I am not a physio – even though I think I am sometimes. But, as I understand it, he is still not on the pitch training [with the] football so it will be tough to reach the Scotland games.”
