Celtic have been forced to wait on their punishment from Uefa after a disciplinary hearing was postponed last night.

The Parkhead club faces two charges. One relating to the use of flares by Celtic fans in their away match at Fenerbahce. The other is for the five bookings picked up by Celtic’s players in the 1-1 draw.

Dedryck Boyata, Mikael Lustig, Stefan Johansen, Jozo Simunovic and Kieran Tierney were all cautioned in Turkey. The club were given a £6,000 fine for having five players booked (and Virgil van Dijk sent off) during the second leg of their Europa League tie with Internazionale in last season’s tournament.

The potential fine over the use of pyrotechnics would be the eighth time the club have been rapped for fan behaviour in European competition over the past five years.
