CELTIC have announced a tie-up with Dafabet which will see the betting firm become the club’s main sponsor from the start of the 2016/17 campaign.
The company, headquartered in the Philippines, already enjoys a partnership with the Parkhead side as the club’s International Betting Partner, and replaces Magners as the club’s main sponsor after three years.
Celtic and Dafabet have struck a four-year deal which will see the betting firm’s logo featured on the front of the club’s shirts.
Dafabet’s Head of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship John Cruces welcomed the deal as a ‘milestone event’, adding: “A year ago I said that no matter where in the world you are, you see Celtic shirts such is their tremendous support and fan following.
“We’re talking about one of the most iconic and recognised shirts in football.
“To have Dafabet at the heart of Celtic sponsorship is a very proud moment for us.”
Dafabet’s Managing Director of Online Betting and Gaming added: “We continually aim to increase our presence in football and to now feature on the front of one of the most famous shirts in football, is another huge step forward for us.
“We are all very much looking forward to the next four seasons in partnership with Celtic.”
Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell said: “We have already enjoyed an excellent relationship with Dafabet and we are delighted they have made such an increased commitment to the club.
“Celtic continues to be one of the world’s great football clubs and one which is delighted to attract such high-calibre associations. Partnerships such as the one we announce today allow us to look forward with confidence as we ensure Celtic maintains its position as the biggest and best in Scottish football.”
Dafabet already sponsors Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers, and has similar international betting deals with Everton and West Bromwich Albion.
Magners, which extended its sponsorship deal with Celtic last week, will feature on the rear of the Hoops’ shirts from the start of the new campaign.
Magners marketing chief Paul Condron said: “Magners has enjoyed three fantastic years as the shirt sponsor of Celtic FC and we’re very proud to extend that partnership in a deal that will see our association with the club stretch to seven years – a number with great significance in the club’s illustrious history.”
