Popular Aberdeen right back Shay Logan, a player long rumoured with a move away from Pittodrie, has committed his immediate future to the club by signing a two-year contract extension.
Logan has been excellent ever since initially arriving on loan from Brentford in January 2014. He would later sign permanently in the summer but ever since the halfway point of his first full season there was talk of the player wishing to return back down south to be closer to his family.
Aberdeen managed to persuade him to remain for this current campaign, where Logan has continued to put in solid performances at full back, all the while trying to encourage the 28-year-old to sign a new deal.
He was given a late-it-or-leave-it offer prior to last Friday’s loss to Logan. It now seems the player has decided to remain with the Dons and help the team have another crack at the Ladbrokes Premiership title next season.
His manager Derek McInnes said: “I was always confident we could try and get there and get a deal done. It is absolutely brilliant news.
“Shay since he came to the club two and a half years ago has been very consistent with his performances and has become a firm favourite with everyone at the club including the supporters.
“I am sure they will be delighted with the news that he has committed himself to us.”
