Aberdeen draw Fola Esch of Luxembourg in the first round of the Europa League.

Should the Dons make it past that hurdle they’ll face either Ventspils or Vikingur in the second qualifying round.

Latvian side Ventspils are managed by English coach Paul Ashworth and made the Europa League group stages back in 2009. They’ll fight for right to meet the winner of Aberdeen’s match with Fola Esch when they square off against Faroe Islands club Víkingur in the first round.

Aberdeen’s first leg match with Fola Esch is due to take place on Thursday, 30 June, in Luxembourg, with the second leg a week later on July 7 at Pittodrie.

Aberdeen made it to the third round of the Europa League in each of the last two years. They were eliminated by Real Sociedad in 2014 and Kazakhstan side Kairat last term.
