Aberdeen will face Maribor or Levski Sofia in the next round of Europa League qualifying, barring a second leg collapse against Ventspils.

Derek McInnes’ side lead 3-0 from the first leg against and are heavy favourites to advance when they travel to Latvia for the second leg next Thursday.

If they can finish off the tie they will advance to the third qualifying round where they’ll either meet Slovenian side Maribor, who’ve eliminated Hibs, Celtic and Rangers from Europe in recent years, or Bulgarian outfit Levski Sofia.

The first leg takes place on 28 July, with the return fixture coming exactly one week later.
