The tech start-up, which last month raised £400,000 from private backers and a public crowdfunding campaign, has developed customised electronic point of sale (ePOS) products to provide advanced and personalised services for hospitality customers.

It has pledged to waive monthly subscription charges for certain clients, in the hope that digital products will empower more businesses to tap into home deliveries, allowing them to generate income during the government-imposed lockdown.

Founder and chief executive Bhas Kalangi said: “We’re facing unprecedented times with the impact of the virus hitting hospitality businesses across the entire world. This impact will be felt across the sector for months to come, so it’s important that we react and move forward together as an industry.

“We believe our online ordering technology will help put hospitality businesses in a better position to recover and adjust their operations accordingly to become more agile to unforeseen challenges.”

The business claims its modular service is the “world’s most advanced” ePOS platform for the hospitality industry. Since its product launch in April, ePOS Hybrid has built a portfolio of more than 200 clients across Scotland, England and Wales as well as further afield in Australia and India.
