U-21 joy for Smith & Scougs

hearts forward David Smith and Livingston midfielder Stefan Scougall have been called into the Scotland Under-21 squad for the matches against Canada and the USA in the Marbella Cup.

Smith, who is currently on loan at First Division Raith Rovers, is the fourth player from Tynecastle to be included in the squad, with Under-21 boss Stark having already called up Jason
Holt, Dale Carrick and Kevin McHattie. Scougall, described by manager John Hughes as the best youngster he has worked with, makes his first appearance in the Under-21 squad.

The call-ups come on the back of three withdrawals from the original squad, with Sheffield Wednesday’s Rhys McCabe, Celtic’s Callum McGregor and Bristol City’s Joe Bryan pulling out through injury.
