SPL Fanzone: Hibs

With so many new faces arriving at Easter Road during the transfer window, the big question was how long they would take to gel.

After watching Saturday’s backs-to-the-wall performance to dump Killie from the cup the omens are good. If this group of players can play that well after such a short time together what will they be capable of when they really get to know each other?

Pat Fenlon has ruthlessly discarded the soft centre of the team and replaced it with players with genuine resolve and a fair bit of quality. Our new skipper, James McPake, typifies this. It’s been a long time since a Hibs centre back turned in such an impressive display and we now have at least one strong leader on the park.

There’s still a lot of hard work to be done but we now look to have a team willing to give everything for the jerseys.

It was an impressive start Eddie, not easy to get so many strangers to gel. Of course it helps when the players are willing to fight for the cause, as Akpo Sodje said last year football is a funny game, in so much as you can have a load of good players, but still not have a good team?.
