SPL Fanzone: St Mirren

NO ST MIRREN fan could possibly have wanted a better Christmas present than the one we got on Saturday.

In the first half we were outstanding and scored two fantastic goals and, while we let things slip in the second half, the return of the legendary Hugh Murray saw us through. We were even able to put our nine-man jinx against Rangers to bed!

Every player was outstanding, but particular mention has to go to Paul McGowan. He has looked a different player this season and a Scotland call-up surely beckons if he keeps playing like that – although Danny Lennon saying he doesn’t score enough was probably a bit harsh after that fantastic performance!

There’s no point beating Rangers if we then mess up our next few games so, hopefully, we can get some more points against Dundee United and Kilmarnock over the next few days.
