Ross Tokely signs for Ross County

Ross County have confirmed the signing of Ross Tokely after he quit their Highland rivals Inverness Caley Thistle.

The 33-year-old defender has joined the newly-promoted Clydesdale Bank Premier League side on a one-year contract.

He made more than 500 first-team appearances for Caley before making the switch to Dingwall.

County manager Derek Adams believes Tokely’s experience will be important as the club prepares for their first-ever season in the top flight.

He said: “At 6ft 2in, Ross is a commanding presence both in matches and on the training pitch.

“He has a wealth of experience at this level and, while a lot of our players have already played in the SPL, having someone like Ross, who played the majority of last season and knows the league and the teams so well, is a valuable addition to the group.”
