Rangers: Doubt surfaces over Daniel Cousin signing

DANIEL Cousin’s future is unclear after the Scottish Premier League revealed the striker had not been registered by Rangers before the club went into administration.

Rangers announced on Monday that a deal had been done to sign the 35-year-old subject to international clearance – just as it emerged the club had filed notice of their intention to go into administration. That process was completed yesterday and carries automatic restrictions on registering players with the SPL. A statement from the league read: “The SPL can confirm the application has been received for the registration of Daniel Cousin. The player has not yet been registered with the SPL and we intend to discuss that application with the administrators of Rangers FC this week.” Cousin agreed to sign after his agent, Willie McKay, claimed he had been offered £7,500 a week – but later reduced to £5,000. The SPL earlier released a statement outlining Rangers’ punishment, stating: “Rangers FC is subject to restrictions on the registration of players with the SPL while in administration.”

Ninny, You do realise, don't you, that by regularly claiming on here that RFC would never go into administration and also claiming that they have already won the tax case then no one can take you seriously again (not that they ever did). Consequently, whatever you have to say is a total irrelevance.

The baying mob that were rejoicing at the demise of Rangers have already started tae bleet about the end game at Ibrox not being fair ... lol ... Rangers can sell Lee Wallace tae Aston Villa for 2.5m in the summer after Hearts only get around half a million less than the 1.5m they agreed tae sell him tae Rangers for last summer ... lol ... now that will have Timmy shouting fae the rooftops ... lol

With CW being the main creditor at 18m secured then he gets the say on how much in the pound gets paid back or is accepted ... I would expect that the 25m ticketus loan along with the 6m from Jelavic will have been paid into companies as legitimate debts that CW has set up with associates and will not be available to the administrator ... 1p in the pound might be offered first and then this might rise towards 10p in the pound ... the ticketus payment could be 2.5m max along with HMRC getting less than 1m with the potential 50m big tax bill being reduced tae around 5m ... I would estimate around 10m will be the total agreed amount for all creditors combined ... and I would expect CW will cover this and take Rangers out of administration and then sell a debt free Rangers to the highest bidder ...

1 He was signed on Monday and Rangers officially entered administration on Tuesday ... the fact that the SPL have not registered him yet is irrelevant ... one they confirm his signing with the administrator then the SPL register him and he can play ... lol

If Rangers sent the registration before entering administration yesterday and the administrators agree that his wages are already agreed then he becomes a Gers player ... simple as that ... lol

The bitter bhoys are not best pleased that CW has shafted HMRC and saved the club eh? After the dust has settled and the reality of what is happening at Rangers becomes clear then I expect most Gers fans will be relieved and most Tic fans will be gutted ... onwards and upwards for Scotland's premier club ...

The rules are clear - Cousin cannot be signed by Rangers now. Imagine how it would look if administrators were making long-standing employees redundant, while giving Cousin £5k a week!
