ABERDEEN have completed the signing of Northern Ireland international winger Niall McGinn from Celtic.
McGinn, 24, spent last season on loan at npower League One side Brentford and has now signed a two-year deal with the Dons.
The former Derry City player said he is looking forward to working under Craig Brown at Pittodrie.
“Aberdeen is a massive club and I’m really looking forward to be back playing in Scotland,” he said.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Brentford last season and playing week in week out has, I believe, made me a better player.
“Craig Brown has big plans for the club and I definitely want to be a part of that.
“I am raring to go and would like to thank the manager for bringing me here. Craig knows the game as well as anyone and has managed at the highest level.”
McGinn, who revealed that he consulted fellow Northern Ireland squad members Josh Magennis and Rory McArdle about life at Aberdeen, added: “I am looking forward to showing everyone what I can do. I have played mainly as a winger at Brentford and Celtic but at Derry I played in a more attacking role in a 4-3-3 formation.
“I enjoy playing further forward and I am always hungry for goals.”
Brown is delighted to have secured his second signing of the summer, following the acquisition of Jonny Hayes from Inverness.
“He has all the attributes we are looking for,” said the manager. “We have been lacking pace. We have signed a winger with pace in Jonny Hayes and now we have signed a striker with pace in Niall, who can play on the wing if necessary.”
