Ivan Sproule ban suspended

HIBERNIAN winger Ivan Sproule has been handed a two-match suspended ban by the Scottish Football Association for comments made about referee Craig Thomson following the 1-0 defeat by Aberdeen at Pittodrie last December.

Sproule described Thomson’s handling of the Scottish Premier League encounter as “one of the poorest refereeing performances I’ve seen in a long time” and “a shambles”.

In advocating the official’s demotion to the First Division, Sproule also branded the decision to award the Dons a match-winning penalty against him for a challenge on Peter Pawlett as “ridiculous”.

Sproule’s ban will come in to force if he again breaches rule 68 – which covers the criticism of match officials – before 17 December, 2012.

jambo nut was that when he stuck the guts on mcgowans heed. and as for ban, if refs want respect they must earn it, and if they have a stinker take the stick. ive saw some shockers over the yrs involving all clubs , sorry meant to say all outwith OF a few spring to mind. stamp getting sent off for scoring a winning goal, gascoine for giving ref back his card then tortollano getting booked for backing gazza up. but the bestworst must be fulton getting booked for being ugly.

It would seem that Sproule indeed has the luck of the Irish not only does he escape any form of punishment for his behaviour on 2nd of Jan he also walks in this case also !! With Griffiths and O'Connor regularly making fools of themselfs isnt it about time Pat Fenlon laid down the letter of the law and show the players who is the boss ?

Ivan was right. CT's performance was shockingly one sided and not for the first time whilst officiating a Hibernian match. The man is a Heart supporter through and through with a history to prove it prior to his appointment. Who on earth sanctions people like him to be referees in the first place then have the sheer audacity to try to protect their non existent credibility by disciplining players when they state the obvious. SFA =Sheer F---ing Absolutism

It's not a ban if it's suspended, what a farce the FSA is, rule 1 = B.S. can you smell it?
