Hibs and Motherwell bid to sign Jason Kennedy
Hibernian and Motherwell have been linked with a move for Rochdale midfielder Jason Kennedy.
Reports south of the border suggest both SPL sides have tabled pre-contract offers for the 26-year-old with a view to welcoming him this summer.
Kennedy will be a free agent at the end of the season following four years at Spotland and is also thought to be on the radar of Capital One Cup finalists Bradford, whose transfer kitty could be enhanced by an estimated £1 million Wembley windfall after stunning Aston Villa on Tuesday.
Kennedy has already played in Scotland with Livingston during a six-month loan from Middlesbrough, where he began his career, at the tail end of 2007.
The playmaker also spent time on loan at Boston United, Bury and Darlington, whom he joined on a permanent deal in 2008 prior to his switch to Dale.
Hibs manager Pat Fenlon has been active in the transfer window by extending the loan deals of Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths and Manchester City left-back Ryan McGivern, and tying down St Johnstone midfielder Liam Craig on a pre-contract.
Speaking recently Fenlon, who also wants to keep Jorge Claros beyond the imminent expiration of his loan from Honduran club Motagua, said: “You are always looking not necessarily just for this window, but for the end of the season, as well. You’ve got to keep doing that as a manager.”
