Hibernian’s Jorge Claros returns from World Cup trip

HibERNIAN’S Honduran midfielder Jorge Claros will have to fight fatigue to feature in Saturday’s game against Kilmarnock after a 10,000-mile round trip to Central America.

The 26-year-old played for ten minutes in a 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Cuba in Havana, then was an unused sub in the return fixture, a 1-0 win in San Pedro Sula. Claros then made the 5,000-mile journey back to Edinburgh.

Hibs manager Pat Fenlon said: “I’m delighted to see our players get such recognition. We want to see them representing their countries, but we also want them back fit and healthy.”

Striker Leigh Griffiths looks set to lead the line against Killie at Easter Road after recovering from illness.
