Changing Room Chat: Vladimir Romanov in new bid for President

VLADIMIR Romanov yesterday launched a new bid to enter politics in Lithuania, surrounded by basketball icons from his club Zalgiris Kaunas.

The Hearts owner heads the slate of the Lithuanian People’s Party for the 14 October general election. The 64-year-old-was previously barred from standing for president because he was not born in Lithuania. Asked yesterday about his aims, he said: “My enemies will tell you what my goals are. You won’t believe them anyway. I don’t have time to speak about it now.”
