MOTHERWELL will face the winners of the Europa League 1st Qualifying Round match between Stjarnan and Bangor City.
Icelandic side Stjarnan - known for their madcap celebrations - finished third in the Pepsi deildin, having been promoted from the second tier in 2008, and are making their maiden appearance in European competition.
Bangor City, on the other hand, are no strangers to Europe, having appeared in the Cup Winners’ Cup, UEFA Cup, Intertoto Cup, Europa League and Champions League since 1962.
However, they have struggled against continental opponents, losing 11-0 on aggregate to Halmstads BK of Sweden in the 2000/01 UEFA Cup, 10-1 on aggregate to Danes FC Midtjylland in the 2008/09 UEFA Cup, and 13-0 on aggregate to Helsinki in the 2011/12 Champions League.
The Steelmen have faced tough opposition in recent years in Europe, including matches against the likes of Levante, Kuban Krasnodar and Steaua Bucharest.
The Welsh side will take on the Icelandic outfit over two legs, on July 3 and 10, with the legs involving Motherwell taking place on July 17 and 24.
