Dumbarton 0-3 Livingston

  • by JACK ROBERTSON

Livingston produced a slick passing display to end up winners against a Dumbarton side who did not take their chances on the day.

Scorers: Livingston - Lander 32; Watson 47; Mullen 78

The Sons started with a swift attack down the left after three minutes with Mark Gilhaney crossing for Jim Lister who headed narrowly wide. Livi went close on 18 minutes with Liam Fox shooting just over from 16 yards after a cutback from Callum Booth.

Kyle Lander put the Lions ahead after 32 minutes with a nice finish from 12 yards out after Burton O’Brien’s cutback from the byeline.

Lander shot narrowly wide just two minutes after that following a three-man move involving Fox and Booth.

Dumbarton midfielders Chris Turner and Scott Agnew linked up well to unlock the Livi defence and send Lister clear but his shot was easily saved.

Two minutes after the break Livi went 2-0 up with Paul Watson rising above the sons defence from a Fox corner. Alan Lithgow headed against McNeil’s bar from Agnew’s corner as Dumbarton tried to make a comeback.

Sub Danny Mullen supplied the killer third goal on the breakaway after a nice pass from Booth.
