Stranraer sack Knox after poor results

KEITH Knox has been sacked by struggling Stranraer, who sit bottom of the second Division.

The club committee decided to part company with Knox, 48, because of poor performances this season which has left them bottom of the table. Stranraer have won only once in the league this season and have failed to pick up any points away from home.

Assistant manager Stephen Aitken has agreed to take charge of the team until a new manager is appointed.

Chairman Robert Rice added: “Recent results have been unacceptable and the clubs committee felt that change was now required.

“This had been a very difficult decision and one that had not been taken without serious deliberation and debate. Stranraer FC would like to thank Keith Knox for all his efforts during his three years in charge and wish him all the very best for the future.”
