Second Division roundup: Ayr United 2, Queen of the South 4

Top of the table Queen of the South twice came from behind to beat Ayr.

Darian MacKinnon got both Ayr goals, but they were pegged back, first by Nicky Clark and then Paul Burns. Gavin Reilly got the Dumfries side ahead in 61 minutes and he got his second seven minutes later.

Arbroath 2, East Fife 0

Arbroath sit firmly in the play-off places after a comfortable win.

Steven Doris’s goal gave Paul Sheerin’s side a 26th minute lead and within two minutes Derek Holmes got the second of the afternoon and East Fife never looked like mounting a comeback.

Albion Rovers 2, Stranraer 1

Albion Rovers made it two wins on the bounce at the expense of Stranraer.

Jason Crooks broke the deadlock in the 49th minute, but Chris Aitken equalised on the hour mark. The vital goal came with ten minutes left when Mark McGuigan shot home.

Alloa Athletic 0, Stenhousemuir 2

Stenhousemuir got the better of Alloa in a disappointing match.

Darren Smith eventually made the breakthrough midway through the second period. Smith was then fouled in the area minutes from time which allowed Brown Ferguson to clinch things from the spot.

Forfar Athletic 1, Brechin City 0

Forfar claimed the points in the Angus derby against Brechin.

The only goal of the game came midway through the first half from Martyn Fotheringham.

Andy Jackson looked the most likely to get a City equaliser, but it was not to be.
