Division three: Elgin hit summit despite being pegged back by Montrose
David Hopkirk opened the scoring for Annan in the 42nd minute and Ally Love doubled the lead on half-time before the visitors’ Paul Quinn pulled one back.
Annan Athletic 5, East Stirling 2
Hopkirk added two further goals either side of a Scott Chaplain penalty while Nathan Shepherd grabbed a late consolation.
Peterhead 2, Stirling 2
PETERHEAD looked set for three points as goals from Martin Bavidge and Ross Smith gave them a two-goal cushion inside 28 minutes. However, Jordan White’s 31st minute strike halved Stirling’s arrears and the visitors snatched a point with Joshua Flood’s 83rd minute goal.
Queen’s Park 1, Berwick Rangers 1
The spoils were shared in a dreary 1-1 draw. Lee Currie crossed accurately for Darren Lavery to power home the opening goal for Berwick in the 32nd minute The visitors did not hold their lead for long though as two minutes later Anthony Quinn unleashed an unstoppable volley.
Montrose 2, Elgin City 2
Elgin City moved to the top of the league despite a 2-2 draw. Stuart Leslie’s put Elgin ahead on 21 minutes and Daniel Moore added a penalty after Montrose goalkeeper Sandy Wood was dismissed. Gary Wood scored for Montrose on 71 minutes before Jamie Winter’s late equaliser.
