Taylor’s brace for Bairns beats Livingston

A DOUBLE from Lyle Taylor consigned Livingston to a 2-0 defeat at the Falkirk Stadium.

The home side nearly had the lead in barely 20 seconds when David Weatherston cut back for Blair Alston, but he scooped his shot over the crossbar.

Falkirk took a deserved lead on 39 minutes when Johnny Flynn flicked a cross on at the near post and Taylor nodded it over the line from two yards.

Taylor looked to have doubled the advantage three minutes into the second half after heading home a corner, but it was chalked off for a foul. Iain Russell was at the heart of most of Livi’s forays forward, without ever really threatening and on 64 minutes Falkirk got their second. A Thomas Grant free kick was clipped in again to Taylor, who made no
mistake from five yards.
