Stuart mcCall unfazed by Allan moore threat
STUART McCall has no problems with Allan Moore’s threat to “park the bus” when he takes his Morton side to Lanarkshire for today’s William Hill Scottish Cup fifth-round tie at Fir Park.
Moore claimed he has taken inspiration from Bolton’s goalless draw against Arsenal in midweek and Ayr’s valiant effort against Kilmarnock in their League Cup semi-final defeat last week.
Motherwell manager McCall says the First Division side can use whatever tactics they see fit but is hoping his team will have enough to see them through.
“I did see that story but with the players they have got in their team, they can cause us problems if they are at their best,” he said. “But anyway, you want to try to get through to the next round and if that is the way they decide they will go, then that is down to them. Whatever way they go about it, it is not a problem for me, it’s about how we concentrate on our job.”
McCall’s task should be made easier by the presence of highly-rated Jamie Murphy who knocked back a deadline day bid from Championship side Blackpool.
Murphy, 22, said: “I am happy here at the moment. I discussed the offer with my mum and dad and decided it wasn’t for me. A big factor is that we are doing well in the league and cup this season so I am just looking forward to the rest of the season here.”
