Severin in running for Dumbarton post

FORMER Hearts, Aberdeen, Dundee United and Scotland midfielder Scott Severin is on the short-list to be the new manager of Dumbarton.

Fifteen times capped Severin, who is presently attending a Uefa Training Course, announced his retirement from playing in March, after sustaining a leg-break seven monthsearlier.

Meanwhile, axed manager Alan Adamson, who led the club from the foot of the Second Division to promotion via the play-offs, has broken his silence on his dismissal. “I was told results are all that matter and that the club could not be loyal. I am still a bit shell-shocked by the decision as I thought my record there would have counted for something,” he said. “I would have expected longer than nine games to get the team established in the First Division.”
