Raith Rovers 2 - 0 Airdrie United: Brian Graham seals it for Raith Rovers

Brian Graham’s 11th goal of the season sent Raith Rovers on the way to a deserved three points, writes Craig Fowler at Stark’s Park.

Airdrie had come to press their opponents and halt Raith’s passing flow, but the home side showed their superiority in attack, carving open the visitors time and again. Airdrie may feel aggrieved at having had Nathan Blackley’s “goal” disallowed at 1-0, but Raith should have had the points secured long before Greig Spence’s 82nd-minute tap-in.

Graham was dangerous throughout and deservedly got on the scoresheet on 34 minutes. Joe Hamill’s low corner was still rising when it met the head of the charging Graham who bulleted the ball into the top corner.

The lanky striker came close when his second half free-kick smacked off the outside of the post, and he missed again with a header. But Graham’s miscues turned positive as his front post fresh-air swipe allowed Spence to divert home Allan Walker’s cross.
