Livingston star Scougall fired up after Scotland duty

STEFAN SCOUGALL is
adjusting to life back amongst the Livingston squad after
making his international debut last week and now he’s looking forward to getting back down to First Division business at
Hamilton tomorrow.

The midfielder started in the Scotland Under 21 match against the USA in Marbella (2-0 defeat) and was on the bench for the game against Canada (2-0 victory) three days later.

But he joined back up with the Livi players yesterday as they prepare for this weekend’s league fixture.

He said: “It’s totally new
experience for me to come
back to club football from
international football, but it was really good.

“It was quite different going from a new group of people who I got to know pretty well over the week and then coming back into the day-to-day environment and training with the Livi boys again.”

Scougall left for duty after the Lions conceded late in a 1-1 draw with Cowdenbeath in their last league match
before the international break, and now, with two weeks of hard work behind them, John Hughes’ men are geared up for another testing match.

Scougall admits the Blue
Brazil’s equaliser two weeks ago left the Livi players feeling as though they’d suffered defeat after a solid performance.

But he also says the spirits are high going into the Accies encounter.

He added: “Cowdenbeath only really came into the game in the last ten minutes. We kept the ball well and had a few good chances but then in the last ten minutes we lost it.

“We didn’t keep the ball, we were trying silly things, but I think over the piece we did quite well and we really we gave it away towards the end.

“Hopefully, we can improve on that.

“Obviously I’ve missed a wee bit but training has been
really good for Saturday and the spirit’s high.

“Everyone’s buzzing again and hopefully we can go out and give a good performance and a win in what is a big match.

“Hamilton had a decent result a couple of weeks ago against Airdrie and they’re probably thinking the same thing as
well so hopefully it’s a
good one.”
