John Collins and John Hughes set to join Livingston
LIVINGSTON are set to appoint John Collins and John Hughes as their new managerial team.
The First Division club, who sacked Gary Bollan last week, will bring the two former Hibernian managers on board at Almondvale with a view to bringing through and developing the club’s youngsters.
Hughes will take charge of first-team affairs while Collins, who has been out of work since leaving Charleroi in 2008, will be appointed as director of football.
Hughes’ record of bringing through young players during his time at Falkirk and then at Easter Road impressed the Livingston board, who hope he and Collins can continue the successful youth policy which has unearthed the likes of Robert Snodgrass, James McPake, Murray Davidson and Leigh Griffiths in recent years.
Livingston currently lie fourth in the First Division, 12 points off leaders Ross County.
Hughes has been out of football since being shown the door by Hibs in October 2010 following a run of poor results. He had guided the Easter Road club to fourth position and a place in Europe the previous season.
Collins led Hibs to their last major trophy when he took charge of their 5-1 League Cup final victory over Kilmarnock in 2007. He left the club the following season following a disagreement with the board over funding for new players.

Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 09:32 AM10 Not very ... Rangers will wipe the debt out and move on ... it is the only way forward for the club after SDM failed to take the big tax bill with him to MIH when he sold Rangers ... he has gone now and should shoulder the blame ... in the meantime Rangers do what they must and move on ...

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 01:23 PMPotentially a great move by Livi and definitely a great move by HMRC. Put these tax-dodgers on the back foot, get your own administrator in there instead of one of Whyte's cronies. Put them to the wall.

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 11:34 AMAll the 9s. Just to let you know that my wife asnd I pay 135 pounds a month taxes out of our fairly meager taxes to HMRC and are proud to do so. I expect you also support the owners of Top Shop,Vodaphone etc in their attempts to defraud the rest of us by avoiding taxes. You sir are an ignorant one eyed scoundrel.

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:25 AMCRACKIN' move by Livi. Although I was one JH's biggest detractors - mainly for his mindless babblings, to the press and at post-match briefings - I think he knows a bit about the game. And in this respect I don't think JC would team up with someone that many seesaw as a buffoon. It'll be worth watching to see how this pans out....

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 09:53 AMFantastic move by CW and Rangers ... shafting HMRC is good news and only what they deserve for being greedy and unreasonalbe towards heavy investors in UK business ... with CW the only secured creditor and largest at 18m then he can accept 1p in the pound and the rest of the creditors get the same ... that means that any outstanding tax bill will be minimal at around 50k and ticketus will also get around 250k and the potential 49m would drop to around 490k ... I expect Rangers will be out of administration by March as it will be cut and dried and although the 10 point deduction will hand the league to Celtic ... I feel that with Rangers being so far ahead with titles won that giving them one by default is a small price to pay for moving Rangers forward
