MORTON are in shock in after thieves stole their beloved mascot Cappie The Cat at the weekend and dumped his head in a garden close to Cappielow. More seriously, the PA system was nicked, leaving the Greenock club in a tight spot. The club said: “The PA system is a necessity on match days to ensure that the club can meet our responsibilities with regards to the safety of supporters.

“We are currently working to ensure that we are able to have at least a basic PA system in place for this weekend’s match against Partick Thistle.”
